MAJRA National CSR Fund Partners with Careem to Support Delivery Captains in Dubai

The MAJRA National CSR Fund has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Careem, a fabulous partnership aimed at supporting delivery captains during the sweltering summer months here in the UAE. With H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and the Chairman of MAJRA’s Board of Trustees, present during the signing, this collaboration takes on a meaningful role in the community.

This year’s initiative is ramping up significantly, targeting key cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and even Ras Al Khaimah! The goal? To provide essential support to over 60,000 delivery captains from various platforms, and make their daily grind a little easier.

So, what’s actually included in this summer initiative? For starters, we’re looking at air-conditioned mobile rest areas and solar-powered rest stops scattered across busy locations. These zones come equipped with temperature control, free Wi-Fi, drinking water, and refreshments, giving the delivery captains a much-needed breather during their long shifts.

Mudassir Sheikha, the CEO and co-founder of Careem, shared his thoughts, emphasizing how challenging UAE summers can be for those in the field. He mentioned that this campaign is designed to give real support to the captains, making their work safer and much more manageable. Teaming up with MAJRA National CSR adds a broader impact to this vital project.

On the other hand, Sarah Shaw, CEO of MAJRA National CSR Fund, highlighted how this initiative represents the spirit of community service in alignment with the ‘Year of Community.’ It’s all about recognizing the hard work of delivery captains, especially during the hot summer months.

What’s more, Careem is equipping delivery captains with Captain Kits that include towels, water bottles, and hydration supplements—perfect for beating the heat. Plus, in collaboration with the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), free health screenings will be available, helping to ensure better well-being during the intense summer heat.

But that’s not all! Captains will also enjoy refreshing treats like free ice cream and cold fruit juices, plus easy access to cold water dispensers strategically placed in key delivery zones. It’s all about ensuring they stay hydrated and refreshed while they work.
